NEW CONSTRUCTION

This summer has seen the opening of two new major commercial developments. A redevelopment of the building at the corner of Harwood Avenue and Glenview Avenue, and State Street Station, a mixed use residential apartment and commercial building on State Street.

The Harwood building includes retail space along the street, as well as office space in the lower level, accessible from the back. One of the office spaces is still available, but the rest of the building
is already full. Stone Creek Coffee is the anchor retail space, with two fitness studios, 9 Round and Power Cycle, taking up the remainder of the first level.

Stone Creek Coffee is well known in the Milwaukee area and a welcome addition to the growing coffee shop lineup in the Village. 9 Round is a fast circuit training workout with an emphasis on kickboxing fitness training. PowerCycle is indoor cycling that is not only a great leg workout, but upper-body and core work too.

Harwood Veterinary Hospital is located on the lower level. At Harwood, Dr. Paul Habriga offers top quality veterinary care to all pets, including non-traditional critters.

Also opening recently in a new construction project is the first phase of public parking at State Street Station. Located directly behind the relocated Chase Bank, the new covered public parking is
currently signed for 2 Hour Parking. Another section of public parking in the project is scheduled to open at a later date.

NEW FACES, OLD SPACES
Along with the major development and redevelopment projects, there are also several smaller remodeled spaces bringing new businesses to the Village.

The Village Cheese Shop opened in June in the 1430 Underwood building. The long time home of Underwood Gallery and several shorter term boutiques, this space has been transformed into a shop featuring fine cheeses, wine, sandwiches and more. Customers can take a seat at the shop’s cheese bar for a sandwich, salad or cheese and charcuterie boards.

Hello Little has transformed a portion of the space left vacant when The Flower Lady moved down the street, into a unique studio focused on infant photography.

Anodyne Coffee has brought one of their cafes to the space next to Niemann’s Candies & Ice Cream on Harwood. This amazing transformation removed the faux stone that covered the exterior and replaced it with a glazed brick that replicates what was originally on the building. Another great feature is the large outdoor patio nestled under large trees in the back of the building.
